Hearing loss research is hugely underfunded. Only 83p is spent on research for each person with hearing loss, compared to £16 spent on research per person living with sight loss.

RNID is the biggest dedicated funder of hearing loss research in the UK. With help from people like you, we fund research which will pave the way to the next big breakthrough in hearing loss treatments.

Will you join thousands of others to support the development of ground-breaking treatments in hearing loss research?

Sally's Story

“My daughter Eloise was born seven weeks prematurely and it was an incredibly difficult experience. Having a premature baby is extremely stressful – they are tiny and fragile and often facing life threatening conditions.

It’s wonderful to know that, thanks to research funded by RNID, there is a world-first genetic test for premature babies. It identifies whether they might be at risk of hearing loss when treated with a certain type of antibiotic so that they can receive a different treatment that is safer for them.

This incredible test will save the hearing of 200 babies each year and was funded by people like you!”
