Alan's Story

In social occasions, I often had to ask for sentences to be repeated. I felt frustrated that I couldn’t distinguish sounds enough to understand the gist of the conversation. 

I took the hearing check and it confirmed that I should contact my GP and have him arrange for me to have a full hearing test. Eventually, I was called to the audiology department. I learnt that I had hearing loss in both of my ears, and they suggested a treatment plan for me. 

Now I feel more relaxed in company knowing that, provided it is not a large group, I should be able to hear the conversation more clearly.

For every £1 we receive, 88p goes to help people who are deaf, have hearing loss, or tinnitus.
